Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Scaled steam element dragging out the warm-up. When the steam side takes much longer to come up, or the wand runs out of push halfway through a pitcher, scale on the element is a common reason. We descale the boiler, measure the element, and replace it only if its reading is out of range.
Steam valve that will not close fully. Scale on the seat keeps the steam valve from sealing, so the wand hisses or drips after you close the knob. We take the valve apart, clean the seat, replace the seals, and check that it shuts off cleanly when hot.
Weak flow from the group after years of tap water. Narrow passages between the boiler and the group are the first to choke. The pump sounds normal, but the shot trickles. We flush the circuit, open the restricted fittings, and time the flow before the machine goes back.
