ECM in Danville
ECM in Danville kitchens.
Some ECM machines with rotary pumps can run from a water line instead of the tank, and a remodel is a natural time to set one up that way. A plumbed machine brings its own faults. House pressure reaches the pump before the machine does anything, a filter cartridge keeps sitting on the line long after it should have been changed, and a drain hose carries spent water and coffee fines to the sink. Each one fails quietly until the shots change.
For a pickup from a Danville kitchen, from the estate remodels near Diablo Country Club to Sycamore, we ask a few things when you book: whether the machine is plumbed, where the shutoff valve is, and what filter sits on the line. On our bench the machine runs from a supply at a known pressure, and the quote comes to you in writing before any repair.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew pressure too high on a plumbed line. A rotary pump adds its own pressure on top of what the house supplies. If the house line runs high, the brew gauge reads well above the setting even though nothing in the machine changed. We measure the line, set the pump bypass, and recommend a pressure reducer on the supply when the reading calls for one.
- Scale building behind an old filter cartridge. A cartridge past its capacity passes hard water straight through, and the machine scales as if there were no filter at all. We check the cartridge date, open the boiler fill path and clean out what we find. Changing the cartridge on time costs far less than descaling a boiler.
- Drip tray overflowing on a drained machine. When the drip tray drains to the sink, coffee fines settle in the hose and slowly block it. The tray fills, spills onto the counter and can run under the machine. We clear or replace the hose, check its fall to the drain, and make sure the tray outlet is not cracked.

FAQ
ECM in Danville questions, answered.
-
Our ECM is plumbed into the water line. What happens at pickup?
Tell us when you book that it is plumbed in and where the shutoff valve is. With the valve closed, the machine comes off at its own inlet and drain hoses, and the plumbing under the counter stays in place. -
How often should the filter cartridge on our line be changed?
Go by the cartridge maker's capacity and how much water you use, not a fixed date. A household pulling several drinks a day works through a cartridge far sooner than one that makes coffee on weekends. Write the install date on the housing so the next change is not a guess. -
The brew gauge reads above zero when nobody is brewing. Is that a problem?
A plumbed machine shows house line pressure on the brew gauge at rest, so some reading is normal. A reading close to the brewing range with nothing happening points to high supply pressure, and a pressure reducer on the line is the usual fix. -
What does the ECM pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does ECM bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to ECM coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
