An intermittent ECM fault is hard to judge from one shot. A machine can heat normally from cold, lose stability after several cycles, then behave again after it rests. Small leaks do the same thing. They show only when the machine is hot and under pressure. That is why our ECM work happens on the bench.
We record the symptom at intake and run the machine long enough to reproduce it. From there we inspect the brew and steam paths, pump behavior, heating controls, valves, seals, wiring, and electronics that are present on the unit. We do not turn a vague pressure or temperature complaint into a parts list. We find the failing system and quote that work in writing.
How the bench process is billed
The $150 deposit pays for pickup, bench diagnosis, and return. It is separate from the repair charge. Standard bench labor is $150 per hour, and no repair starts until the written quote is approved.
Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance. Descaling and inspection on a planned interval can catch a restricted path or a worn seal before the machine stops.
We cover repair parts for 6 months and consumables for 90 days. Coffee pickup reaches our 56 Bay Area cities plus San Francisco.
