What we do

A commercial espresso machine is a plumbed pressure vessel with electronics bolted to it, and a busy cafe runs it open to close. When it goes down, the line stops and the register stops with it. We repair the machines Bay Area coffee shops, restaurants, and offices actually run: traditional cafe espresso machines from La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Victoria Arduino, La Cimbali, Faema, Rancilio, Slayer, Synesso, and Astoria, and the super-automatic bean-to-cup units from Jura, Franke, Schaerer, WMF, Eversys, Nespresso Professional, and Miele.

These are not the machines a general handyman touches. A multi-boiler group head, a steam boiler under pressure, a brew solenoid, a gravimetric flow meter, an automatic brew unit packed with gaskets, those need someone who knows the platform. We do, and we work the electrical and water-line side legally under CSLB #1136642.

Coffee runs on its own clock. We keep an after-hours line at (925) 999-4095 for commercial calls, because a dead machine on a Saturday morning rush is straight lost revenue.

Common failures we see

No or weak brew pressure. Pump worn, an expansion or check valve stuck, or a gicleur and group screen clogged with scale. We read the pressure at the group before we start pulling parts.

Group head leaking or dripping. Brew solenoid valve, group gaskets, and shower screens harden and weep on traditional machines. On the E61 and saturated-group designs these are scheduled wear, cheap parts, fast job.

No steam, weak steam, or wand stuck. Steam boiler element, level probe, SSR, or the steam valve and TurboSteam wand. Scale in the boiler is usually under all of it.

Bean-to-cup brew-unit faults. Jura, Franke, Schaerer, WMF, and Eversys live and die on the brew unit and the milk system. Worn brew-unit gaskets, a drive jam, a clogged milk line, or a grinder burr that has lost its edge. We service the unit, the grinder, and the milk path together.

Scale, the root cause. Every espresso machine runs on a water line, so hard Bay Area water is the slow killer. It clogs gicleurs, coats elements, seizes valves, and fouls flow meters. Half the calls we get trace back to water that was never filtered or a machine that was never descaled.

Repair or replace

A commercial La Marzocco, La Cimbali, or Synesso is built to be rebuilt and is almost always worth repairing against the cost of a new head, which runs into five figures. The lighter office and capsule machines are a different math, and we give you a straight read before you spend. We quote everything before we start, and the $75 diagnostic is waived when you book the repair.
