La Marzocco is the machine you find behind the counter at serious coffee shops. Built in Florence, Italy, it set the standard for specialty cafe espresso. The lines we see most are the Linea Classic and Linea PB, the GB5, the KB90, and the Strada. Dual boilers, saturated brew groups, PID temperature control. These are built to run all day for years, and they reward an operator who keeps up with them. We service them as an independent shop, not a factory-authorized dealer, but parts are well supported through authorized distributors and we source what your machine needs.

Most of what brings us in starts at the brew group. Worn group gaskets and tired shower screens show up as poor lockup, channeling, and water weeping past the portafilter. We pull the group, replace gaskets and screens, and check the dispersion. Brew and steam solenoid valves stick or leak with age, so a group keeps dripping or a steam wand drains pressure. Those get rebuilt or swapped.

Scale is the quiet killer on a plumbed machine. The water line feeds everything, so calcium builds in the boilers, on the heating element, and inside the gicleur and restrictors that meter flow. A clogged gicleur throws off your shot. A scaled element runs hot and slow. We descale the steam and hot-water boilers, clear the restrictors, and replace the element when it has had it. On the electrical side we test the SSR and the level probe, since a bad probe will overfill or run a boiler dry and a failed SSR kills heat.

When pressure goes soft or noisy, it is usually the pump. Vibration pumps and rotary pumps and their motors wear out, and we replace the right one for your model. We also diagnose the PID and control electronics when temperatures drift or the display acts up.

Repair and maintenance

For a commercial operator, the cheapest repair is the one you head off. Stay on a descaling schedule, run real water filtration sized to your volume, and rebuild the group gaskets and seals before they start leaking. Group-head service on a regular interval keeps your shots consistent and saves the boiler and element from scale damage. Backflush daily and watch your water hardness.

Staying ahead of scale costs a fraction of a breakdown. A descale and a set of gaskets is cheap next to a dead element or a seized pump during morning rush, with the machine down and a line out the door. We can set you up on a maintenance interval that fits your traffic.

The deposit is $175 for a home La Marzocco and $250–$550 for commercial equipment. It covers pickup, bench diagnosis, and return and does not go toward the repair. La Marzocco bench time is $175 per hour, with a written quote before repair. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance.
