La Marzocco in Alameda
La Marzocco commercial service.
Alameda runs a tight little cafe scene for an island. Park Street (94501) carries most of the foot traffic, with a second cluster along Webster on the West End, and a few roasters tucked into the old Alameda Point buildings. A lot of those shops are pulling shots on a Linea or a GB5 all day, so a down machine means a quiet register.
We come over from San Ramon, roughly 35 minutes through the tunnel and across the bridge depending on the Posey backup. We handle the boiler and water-line side of these machines under CSLB #1136642, and we work as an independent shop, not a factory-authorized dealer.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Brew-group gaskets and shower screens. Worn group gaskets blow steam around the portafilter and pull your shots off. We swap gaskets and shower screens on Linea and GB5 groups and dial the seal back in.
- Steam and brew solenoid valves. A solenoid that sticks open dribbles into the group or steam wand. We test and replace the brew and steam solenoids and clear scale out of the valve seats.
- Boiler descaling and heating element. Island water still leaves scale in the steam boiler. We descale, check the heating element draw, and look at the SSR and level probe while we're in there.
- Vibration pump and gicleur clogs. Pressure drifting or a pump getting loud usually traces to a tired vibration pump or a scaled gicleur. We rebuild or replace the pump and clear the restrictors.

FAQ
La Marzocco in Alameda questions, answered.
-
How fast can you get to Alameda?
Usually same day or next morning from San Ramon, about 35 minutes out. A dead machine costs a cafe every shot it can't pull, so we run after-hours calls when a shop is stuck. -
Do you stock La Marzocco parts or order them?
Common wear items ride in the van: group gaskets, shower screens, solenoid rebuild kits, level probes. Pumps, PID boards, and elements come fast through authorized distributors when we need them. -
What does a repair cost?
Diagnostic is $75 and it's waived once you approve the repair. You get a written quote before we touch the machine, so there's no surprise on the bill.
