Adrium repairs Miele bean-to-cup coffee machines, the CM 5, CM 6, and CM 7 series, CVA built-in units, and the professional models for homes, offices, small cafes, and restaurants. We service them as an independent shop; we are not factory-certified or authorized for Miele. Coffee pickup covers our 56 Bay Area cities plus San Francisco.

The brew unit is where most calls start. Gaskets harden, the unit binds or leaks, and pucks come out wet or under-extracted. On the CM and CVA lines the brew group takes the brunt of daily use, so we pull it, clean it, replace the seals, and check the drive. Grind quality is the next common one. Conical burrs dull over time and dose drifts, which throws off extraction and strains the motor. We inspect the burrs, reset the grind, and swap them when they are worn past spec.

Scale is the real killer on any plumbed espresso machine. Hard Bay Area water lays down deposits in the thermoblock, the valves, and the milk pipework. We see slow heat-up, weak flow, temperature swings, and milk systems that sputter or stop frothing. We descale the boiler circuit, clear the valves, flush the milk lines, and check the seals on the way back together. Control electronics fail too, usually displays, sensors, and the boards that run them, and we diagnose those before swapping anything you do not need.

Repair and maintenance

For a commercial operator, scale management is the whole game. Get on a descaling schedule that matches your water and your cup count, run proper water filtration, and replace it before it is exhausted. Gaskets and seals on the brew group are wear items, so plan to replace them on a cycle instead of waiting for a leak. A clean brew group and clear milk pipework keep extraction and steam consistent shift to shift.

Staying ahead of scale is cheaper than a breakdown. A descale and a seal kit cost a fraction of a cracked thermoblock, a seized brew unit, or a Monday with no coffee in the break room. We are a licensed California contractor, CSLB #1136642, and run Miele pickups from our San Ramon home base.

The Miele bench deposit is $175. It covers pickup, diagnosis, and return and does not go toward the repair. Miele bench time is $175 per hour, and you get a written quote before work continues. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance.
