Common issues we see
What breaks. What we fix.
Eversys machines come out of Switzerland and they aim at the cup quality you would get off a traditional two-group setup, except they run automatic. We see the e series (e2, e4, e6) and the c series (c2, c4) most in office break rooms and small restaurants, plus the Cameo, Legacy, and Enigma in cafes that want the look. These are dense machines. Hydraulics, dual boilers on some models, sensors, and control boards all packed tight. When one goes down, the whole counter stops, so we work them fast.
Most of what we pull apart on an Eversys traces back to the water. These run on a plumbed line, and Bay Area water leaves scale everywhere. Scale chokes the flow sensors and pushes temperature readings off, so the machine throws faults or pours short. We clean and recalibrate the flow and temperature sensors, rebuild the hydraulic and brew valves when seats wear, and service the brew unit when it starts grinding or jamming mid cycle. Grinders are the other regular. Burrs wear, the dose drifts, and the shot goes thin or bitter until they get adjusted or replaced.
The milk system is its own headache on the machines that have it. Old gaskets and clogged lines kill foam quality and breed faults, so we strip it, replace seals, and check the pump pressure. Control board and electronic problems we diagnose on the bench before throwing parts at them, because these boards are not cheap and most faults are a sensor or a valve lying to the board, not the board itself.
Repair and maintenance
If you run one of these in a busy spot, descaling on a schedule is the cheapest thing you can do. Scale is what kills boilers, valves, and sensors, and a real descale plus a good water filter on the inlet line stops most of it before it starts. We also swap gaskets and seals on the brew group and milk circuit before they fail, not after, and service the group on a cycle that matches your volume.
A machine that stays ahead of scale runs for years. A neglected one fails on a Monday morning with a line out the door, and an emergency board or valve replacement costs far more than a filter and a descale would have. Stay on top of it and the machine pays for itself.
We are an independent shop, not factory authorized for Eversys, but we know these machines and the parts that fail. Licensed CSLB #1136642 for the electrical and water line work. Diagnostic is $75, waived with the repair, and you get a written quote before we touch anything. San Ramon is home base, so we are quick to the South Bay and Tri-Valley. Call ADRIUM.
