ECM in San Leandro
ECM in San Leandro kitchens.
Some ECM machines reach a point where one leak is followed by the next. The gaskets and valve seals were all fitted in the same year, have been through the same heat cycles, and harden at about the same time. Fixing them one at a time means several trips to the bench. For a machine with years of daily use behind it, a planned reseal of the whole water path usually makes more sense.
Whether yours sits in a mid-century ranch house in Washington Manor or Floresta, a bungalow in Broadmoor, or a remodeled kitchen in the Bal and Estudillo Estates, we collect it anywhere in 94577, 94578 or 94579. On our bench we strip it, list what is worn in a written quote, and let you choose between a targeted repair and the full reseal before we start.

ECM Espresso Machine in Walnut Creek: Scale-Blocked Valve Replaced and Full Maintenance
A Walnut Creek home barista's ECM espresso machine had one of its boiler valves blocked solid with scale. The fitting behind it was crusted shut, so the machine could not do what that valve is there for, and the rest of the water path was on the same track.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Full reseal after years of daily heat cycles. We replace the group gasket, the valve seals, the fitting washers and the boiler gaskets together, then pressure test the machine hot. Doing it all at once means the next leak is not waiting behind the one we just fixed.
- Hardened tubing inside the case. Plastic tubing near the boilers turns stiff and brittle with heat and can crack at a fitting. We replace the tired lines with new heat-rated tubing and check every connection with the machine at full pressure.
- Steam and hot water valves rebuilt as a pair. Both valves wear the same way, and a worn one drips into the tray and drains the boiler. We rebuild the two together with new seals and springs, clean the seats, and check that each closes with light pressure.

FAQ
ECM in San Leandro questions, answered.
-
Is a full reseal worth it on a machine we have used regularly for years?
Often, yes, if the boilers and frame are sound. The seals are the parts that age, and replacing them together resets most of the wear. If the bench finds a corroded boiler or a failing controller, the quote says so and you decide with the whole picture. -
What does a reseal leave out?
It covers the seals, gaskets and tubing. Pumps, elements, pressure controls and electronics are separate parts. We test each of them on the bench, and if one is weak, it appears as its own line on the quote, so you can accept or skip it. -
Our Floresta kitchen has the machine right next to the range. Does that shorten seal life?
Extra heat from a range next door adds to what the machine makes itself, so gaskets and tubing on that side can age sooner. If you can, leave some space between them. When the machine is open on the bench, we note which side shows more wear. -
What does the ECM pickup deposit cover?
$200 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does ECM bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to ECM coffee-machine repair?
