ECM in Concord
ECM in Concord kitchens.
An ECM that worked yesterday and is stone cold today has usually tripped something. Most machines carry a safety thermostat on the boiler that cuts power to the element if the boiler overheats, and on some it has to be reset by hand. A reset gets coffee going again, but the reason it tripped is still there: a boiler that ran low, a pressure switch that stuck, or a relay that welded shut.
We pick up machines across all four Concord ZIP codes, from Dana Estates, Sun Terrace and the Crossings to the newer streets in Clayton Valley and Crystyl Ranch. On our bench we find the cause, not only the tripped part. The written quote covers both, and nothing is repaired until you approve it.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Machine cold after the safety thermostat trips. The safety thermostat is the last protection against an overheated boiler. When it trips, we look for what let the boiler get that hot: low water, a stuck pressure switch, a failed controller or a welded relay. We fix that cause first, then reset or replace the thermostat.
- No lights, no sound, no power. A machine that shows no sign of life can have a failed power switch, a blown internal fuse, an open thermal cutout or a loose connector. We open it on the bench, trace power from the cord through the switch to the controls, and replace the part that broke the circuit.
- Burnt smell or browned wiring behind the panels. A loose connection makes a terminal run hot, darken its insulation and give off a burnt smell. We replace damaged terminals and wire, check every connector near the element, and run the machine at full heat to confirm nothing warms up that should not.

FAQ
ECM in Concord questions, answered.
-
Our ECM went cold on a 100-degree Concord afternoon. Is the heat to blame?
Not on its own. A hot kitchen should not push a boiler past its safety limit. More likely a control fault finally tripped the safety thermostat. Leave the machine off and book a pickup, and the bench will show which part let it overheat. -
Can we open the panels and reset the thermostat ourselves?
We advise against it. The panels hide mains wiring and a hot boiler, and a reset only restarts a machine that tripped for a reason. Unplug it, let it cool fully, and let us find the cause. -
What do you need from us for a pickup in 94518, 94519, 94520 or 94521?
Have the machine off, cool and drained, with the tank emptied and the portafilters packed on their own. Tell us about steps or gates, and add a short note on what happened just before it went cold. -
What does the ECM pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does ECM bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to ECM coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
