A leak that only appears when the machine is hot. Fittings and seals that look dry at room temperature can weep once the boiler reaches pressure. We run the machine with the covers off, find the wet spot, and replace the gasket, fitting or seal that is actually leaking.
Pressurestat with worn contacts. Pitted contacts make the pressurestat switch late or chatter, and the steam pressure swings. We test it against a gauge, clean or replace it, and confirm the boiler cycles within a steady band.
