Make sure the tank is pushed all the way down onto its seat and the intake hose reaches the bottom. Then run water through the group for a few seconds to push the air out. If the rattle continues, switch the machine off and book the pickup.

Can we glue a cracked water tank?

We would not. Most glues do not hold up to warm water, and a patch can shed bits into the tank. A replacement tank is a simple part for most machines.

Do you need the tank and drip tray along with the machine?

Yes, send both, with the tank lid. Some tank faults show only when the tank sits in its own machine, and staining on the drip tray helps us see where water has been escaping.

Hairline crack leaking from the tank base. Cracks tend to start at a corner or around the outlet valve and open only under the weight of a full tank. We fill the tank off the machine to find the leak, then replace the tank or its outlet valve and seal.
Pump starving for water after a refill. Air in the line after the tank ran dry, or a tank not seated on its valve, starves the pump. It rattles and moves little water. We check the tank valve and seat, prime the pump, and test its pressure at the group.
Intake filter clogged with scale flakes. Scale flakes and grit settle at the bottom of the tank and collect on the intake filter. Flow drops slowly until the pump runs rough. We clean or replace the filter and the intake hose and flush the tank before the machine goes back.
