ECM in Union City

A used ECM is a good buy when the boilers and group are sound, and a gamble when they are not. A seller's photo shows the chrome. It does not show the scale inside the boiler, the state of the seals, or whether the safety valve has been venting. Some faults stay hidden until the machine has been hot for a while. A full bench check before you rely on it tells you what you actually bought.
We collect machines anywhere in 94587, from the tract homes of Alvarado, Decoto and the Union Landing side to the newer two-story houses in Mission Hills above 880. On our bench we heat it from cold, run it through shots and steam, and then open it up. The written quote splits what needs fixing now from what can wait, and nothing is done until you approve.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Hidden scale in a secondhand boiler. A machine run for years on hard water can carry heavy scale on the element and around the level probe. We look inside the boiler, not only at the outside, and tell you whether a descale will do or the element needs replacing as well.
- Leaking seals the seller never mentioned. A dry machine on a seller's counter says little about its seals under pressure. We bring it up to full heat, watch every fitting and valve, and replace the seals that weep.
- Wiring and controls altered by a previous owner. Some used machines arrive with rewired switches, bypassed cutouts or parts that do not belong. We trace the wiring against the original layout, restore any bypassed safety part, and replace connectors that were not made for the load.

FAQ
ECM in Union City questions, answered.
-
We just bought a used ECM from a seller in Decoto. What should we check before the first shot?
Look for water under the machine, green or white crust on the fittings, and a hiss that never stops once it is hot. Run it on a counter you can watch the first time. If anything looks wrong, switch it off and send it to the bench for a full check. -
Is a bench check worth it if the machine seems to work?
It is when you paid real money for it or plan to use it every day. A machine can brew well and still have a bypassed cutout or a boiler thick with scale. The check shows what you have and what it will need soon. -
What should we ask the seller before buying a used ECM?
Ask how old it is, how many drinks a day it made, what water it ran on, and when it was last descaled or resealed. Ask for a video of it heating from cold and steaming. Vague answers are a reason to budget for a bench check. -
What does the ECM pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does ECM bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to ECM coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
