ECM in Livermore
ECM in Livermore kitchens.
A slow leak inside an ECM rarely shows up as a puddle. Hot water seeps from a fitting, evaporates off the warm frame, and leaves a white or green crust behind. In a Livermore kitchen during a triple-digit summer stretch, even a steady weep can dry before it reaches the counter. The damage keeps building out of sight: scale around the joint, corrosion on nearby terminals, water tracking toward the wiring.
We collect the machine and take the panels off on our bench, then run it hot and under pressure while we check each hose, fitting and valve for crust or moisture. The written quote lists every joint that leaks and what it needs, and the repair waits until you approve it.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- White or green crust on fittings inside the case. Crust around a compression fitting marks a joint that has been weeping for a while. We clean it off, replace the ring or seal, and remake the joint so it holds under heat and pressure. Parts near the leak get checked for corrosion too.
- Pump hose or braided line starting to weep. Heat and vibration age the hoses between the tank, the pump and the boiler. Silicone hardens and cracks, and braided lines can seep at their crimped ends. We replace worn hoses and clamps, route them clear of hot parts, and run the pump to check each joint.
- Leak at the gauge fittings behind the front panel. Small tubes feed the pressure gauges, and their fittings sit behind the front panel where a slow drip is hard to see. We check them under pressure, reseal or replace the fitting, and clear the tube if scale has narrowed it.

FAQ
ECM in Livermore questions, answered.
-
How can we check for a hidden leak before sending the machine?
Look under the machine and around its base for white or green crust, and slide a dry paper towel underneath after a hot session. A damp or stained towel means water is escaping. Do not take the panels off with the machine plugged in. -
Can dry summer heat hide a leak in our ECM?
It can. Warm, dry air evaporates a small weep before it pools, so the first sign is crust, not water. If the tank empties sooner than your drinks account for, or the machine hisses more than it used to, have it checked. -
Is a machine with crusted fittings worth repairing?
Usually, yes. Fittings, seals and hoses are inexpensive parts, and the boiler under the crust is often sound once it is cleaned. The bench test shows whether the leak damaged anything nearby, and the written quote tells you before we start. -
What does the ECM pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does ECM bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to ECM coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
