Rocket Espresso in San Carlos

Rocket Espresso in San Carlos kitchens.

Inside a Rocket, flexible hoses carry water from the tank to the pump and from the expansion valve back to the tank. Heat stiffens them over the years. A hose that hardens or slips off its fitting sends water into the case instead of the tank, and the first sign is often a puddle under the machine or a drip tray that fills when nobody has been brewing.

We collect from the tract homes of White Oaks and Devonshire, the remodeled houses west of El Camino, and the blocks around Downtown San Carlos. With the panels off on our bench, we run the machine and watch every hose and fitting under pressure. The written quote lists what leaked and why, and repairs begin only once you approve.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Water under the machine with no obvious source. Water inside the case runs along the frame and escapes wherever it can, often a long way from the leak. We run the machine with the panels off, dry everything, and watch until the source shows itself, then replace the hose, clamp or seal involved.
  • Expansion valve return hose off the tank. On tank-fed machines the expansion valve sends excess water back to the reservoir. When that return hose slips out, the water lands inside the case instead. We refit or replace the hose, secure it, and check the valve setting while it is exposed.
  • Stiff intake hose letting air into the pump. An intake hose that has gone hard no longer seals on its fitting, and the pump draws air with the water. Shots sputter and the pump note changes. We replace the hose and its fittings and confirm the pump primes cleanly.

FAQ

Rocket Espresso in San Carlos questions, answered.

  • How do we tell a drip tray overflow from a leak inside the machine?
Empty and dry the tray, then leave the machine on without brewing. Water that turns up in the tray during warm-up usually comes from a valve venting as designed. Water under the machine, or on the counter behind it, points to a hose or fitting inside.
  • Is it safe to keep using the machine with a small internal leak?
No. Switch it off, because water inside the case can reach wiring and connectors near the boiler. Dry the counter, unplug the machine, and book the pickup.
  • Do you collect from the remodeled homes west of El Camino?
Yes, and from White Oaks, Devonshire and downtown as well, all in 94070. Have the machine cold and drained, and let us know about parking on your block.
  • What does the Rocket Espresso pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does Rocket Espresso bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Rocket Espresso coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
