A dual-boiler Rocket lets you choose the brew temperature and, on many models, the steam boiler setting. Owners change those numbers for lighter or darker roasts, which is exactly what the controller is for. Trouble starts when the machine stops following them: shots taste the same whatever the display says, steam weakens despite a high setting, or the display flickers between readings.
We pick up across 95120, 95124, 95125, 95129 and 95135, from Almaden Valley and Cambrian to Willow Glen, Evergreen and the pocket near Cupertino. On our bench each boiler gets a reference thermometer or gauge, and we compare it with what the controller believes. The written quote says whether the sensor, a relay, an element or the controller is at fault.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Temperature changes that make no difference in the cup. If raising or lowering the setting no longer changes the shot, the controller may be misreading the boiler, or the element relay may be stuck. We measure the boiler against a reference while changing the setting, then replace the part that does not respond.
- Steam boiler slow to recover between drinks. A steam boiler that takes too long to come back after each pitcher may have a weak element, scale on that element, or a setting that was lowered and forgotten. We check the setting, measure element draw, and descale or replace as needed.
- Display flickering or jumping between readings. A loose sensor plug, a damaged lead or moisture in a connector makes readings jump, and the controller then heats erratically. We reseat or replace the sensor and its lead and watch the display hold steady across several cycles.

FAQ
Rocket Espresso in San Jose questions, answered.
-
What brew temperature should we set for a light roast?
Lighter roasts usually taste better toward the top of the range and darker roasts lower down. Change the setting in small steps and let the machine settle before judging a shot. If small changes stop making any difference, have the boiler checked. -
Can we turn off the steam boiler on espresso-only days?
If your model has that option, yes. It saves power and puts less wear on the steam side. Switch it back on well before you make milk drinks so it can fill and reach pressure. -
Does the pickup cover Evergreen and the pocket near Cupertino?
Yes. All five of our San Jose ZIPs are covered: 95120, 95124, 95125, 95129 and 95135. Let the machine cool completely, empty the tank and drip tray, and write down the temperature settings you use so we test at the same values. -
What does the Rocket Espresso pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Rocket Espresso bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Rocket Espresso coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
