Rocket Espresso in Fremont

Rocket Espresso in Fremont kitchens.

Running a reservoir machine low on water is easy to do and hard on the pump. A vibration pump is cooled and lubricated by the water it moves. Run it dry and it overheats, pulls air into the lines, and can leave the boiler without a refill. On Rocket machines with a tank sensor the heating should cut out first, but a sticky float or a shifted sensor lets the pump keep trying.

We collect across Fremont's four ZIPs, from Centerville, Niles, Irvington and Warm Springs to the larger homes in Mission San Jose and the Mission Hills. On the bench we bleed air from the lines, test the pump under load, and check the tank sensor, then send a written quote before any work.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Pump rattling after the tank ran empty. Air in the pump and the lines makes it rattle and deliver water in bursts. A refill and a run of water through the group often clears it. If the noise stays, the pump was damaged running dry, and we replace it and set the brew pressure again.
  • Boiler not refilling after the tank was topped up. An air pocket in the fill line, or a fill valve that stuck while the tank was empty, can stop the boiler refilling even with a full tank. The level falls and the safety cutout trips. We clear the air, test the fill valve, and reset the cutout once the cause is fixed.
  • Tank sensor not stopping the pump in time. The sensor is meant to shut things down before the tank is empty. If it sticks or reads late, the pump runs dry anyway. We test the sensor at several water levels and replace or reposition it so it trips with water still in the tank.

FAQ

Rocket Espresso in Fremont questions, answered.

  • We ran the tank dry and now the pump sounds rough. What should we do?
Switch the machine off, refill the tank, and switch it back on. Lift the brew lever and run water through the group until it flows steadily, which pushes the air out. If the pump still sounds rough or the pressure stays low, stop and book a pickup.
  • Does the machine warn us before the tank is empty?
Machines with a tank sensor cut the heating when the level gets low, and some show a light. Treat it as a backstop, not a gauge. Check the tank by eye each morning and top it up with fresh water well before it runs low.
  • Do you collect from the Mission Hills and Mission San Jose?
Yes, along with the rest of Fremont. When you book, mention a gate or a long drive if there is one, and have the machine off, cool and drained.
  • What does the Rocket Espresso pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does Rocket Espresso bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Rocket Espresso coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
