Hot water tasting of plastic or stale. Old silicone lines, a tank that has grown a film, or a boiler that has not been flushed can all taint the water. We replace aged lines, clean the tank, flush the boiler, and taste the hot water again before the machine goes back.
Safety valve letting off steam. The safety valve opens when boiler pressure passes a set limit. If it lifts, the real fault is usually upstream, in a pressure switch or controller that let the pressure climb. We fix that first, then replace the safety valve if it no longer seals after opening.
Shots thin and pale even with fresh coffee. If the coffee is fresh and ground right but the shot still runs thin, low brew temperature or low pressure may be the reason. We measure both at the group and adjust or repair the part that is out of range.
