Leaks around the portafilter after a gasket swap. A replacement group gasket of the wrong height or hardness either leaves a gap or pushes the handle too far around. Water sprays out at the rim during the shot. We measure the fit, choose a gasket that seats the handle at the right angle, and clean the surface it presses against.
Aftermarket shower screen spraying at one edge. Screens from different makers vary slightly in diameter and thickness. One that does not sit flat lets water bypass the puck along one side. We check the screen and its retaining screw, refit or replace it, and run the group against a blind basket to confirm it seals.
Gauge readings that changed with a new basket. A new basket changes how the puck resists the water, so the same grind can read differently on the gauge. That alone is not a fault. When the needle still behaves oddly with the original basket, we test the pump and the expansion valve against a reference gauge.
