Corroded connectors cutting the heat now and then. Damp air and heat together oxidize the terminals on the element, the pressure switch and the safety cutout. Resistance climbs, the connector runs hot, and heating becomes unreliable. We replace the corroded connectors, clean the terminals, and heat the machine through several cycles to confirm the fault is gone.
Wand spitting steam and water at its pivot. The wand pivots on a joint sealed by small gaskets. Heat hardens them and the joint starts to spit steam and water at the base. We strip the joint, replace the seals, and check that the wand still moves freely without leaking.
Boiler cold after a safety cutout opens. A cutout on the boiler opens if the boiler overheats, often because it ran low on water. Resetting it without finding the cause usually means it trips again. We check the fill circuit, the level probe and the element, fix the cause, and then reset or replace the cutout.
