The lever is the part of a Rocket you handle most. Raising it turns a cam, the cam pushes a valve open, and springs close that valve when the lever comes down. Every shot moves the same gaskets and springs. After enough mornings the valve closes late or not quite fully, and water keeps dribbling into the cup or the drip tray once the shot is over.
We collect machines throughout 94560, from the Lake area and Birch Grove to Old Town and the newer townhomes near Bridgepointe and NewPark. On our bench the group comes apart, the cam and valve gaskets are inspected, and the pump and boiler get tested while the case is open. You get a written quote first, and parts go in only after you agree.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Water dribbling from the group with the lever down. A valve gasket that has flattened, a weak return spring, or scale on the valve seat lets water past after the shot ends. We rebuild the valve with new gaskets and springs, grease the cam with food-safe lubricant, and pull several test shots to confirm the flow stops clean.
- Steam fading halfway through a pitcher of milk. Steam that starts strong and then collapses usually means the boiler cannot hold pressure while you draw on it. Scale in the steam valve or the wand tip, a weak element, or a pressure setting that has drifted low can each be behind it. We measure boiler pressure under load and follow the drop to its cause.
- No lights and no heat when the switch goes on. A machine that stays dark may have a worn power switch, a loose connector, or a safety cutout that opened because the boiler overheated. We trace power from the cord inward, find the break, and look for the reason a cutout tripped before we reset or replace it.

FAQ
Rocket Espresso in Newark questions, answered.
-
Is a Rocket that has been in the family kitchen for ten years worth repairing?
Usually. The frame, the boiler and the group are built to last, and most of what wears on a lever-group machine is standard: gaskets, springs, valves, pumps and switches. After the bench test we tell you plainly what it needs, and if the numbers do not make sense we say that too. -
Why is the used coffee puck wet and soupy after a shot?
When the lever comes down, the group should vent the pressure above the puck through a small drain, with a short burst of water into the drip tray. If that burst has gone quiet, coffee fines or scale may be blocking the drain, and the puck stays soaked. A light dose can also leave the basket wet, so check that first. -
What should we do with the water tank before pickup?
Empty it, rinse it, and set it back in the machine so it travels in its place. Empty the drip tray as well, and switch the machine off early enough that the boiler is cold when we arrive. A note about what the machine was doing when it last worked helps us on the bench. -
What does the Rocket Espresso pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Rocket Espresso bench repair take?

What warranty applies to Rocket Espresso coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
