Yes, if you already backflush. With the blind basket in, lift the lever briefly, note where the brew gauge settles, then lower it. That number is what the pump and the expansion valve can reach, and it helps us before the machine even reaches the bench.

What we repair on the bench.

Brew gauge short of its usual mark. We fit a gauge to a blind portafilter and read the pressure the pump and expansion valve can reach. A low number with a healthy pump means the valve opens too early, and we clean and reset it. A low number from the pump itself means a new pump.
Pressure fading partway through the shot. A pump that starts strong and fades as it warms is often wearing out. A tank intake that pulls air as the level drops does the same. We run long shots on the bench at different tank levels to tell the two apart.
Pump humming but barely moving water. A hum with little flow means the pump's piston is stuck or its inlet is blocked. We check the inlet line and the small filter at its end first, then free or replace the pump and set brew pressure again.
