The seller said the machine was descaled recently. Does that change anything?

It helps if the job was done well. A rushed descale can leave flakes lodged in valves or on the level probe, so we still open the machine up. Ask the seller what product was used and pass that along.

Do you collect from the townhomes in Marina Bay?

Yes. Marina Bay, Point Richmond, the Annex, the Iron Triangle and Hilltop are all in the pickup area. Mention parking or building access for a townhome, and have the machine cold and drained before we arrive.

Hidden scale in a machine that looks clean. Scale forms inside the boiler, the heat exchanger and the narrow passages, and the outside of the machine gives no hint of it. We open the boiler and the group, gauge how much has built up, and descale or replace the parts it has already damaged.
Mismatched parts from an earlier repair. A gasket of the wrong height, a generic valve seal, or connectors that do not match the originals can work for a while and then fail. We identify parts that do not belong and replace them with correct ones, so the next failure is not a surprise.
Safety valve that has never been tested. A safety valve can sit untouched for years while scale glues it shut. We check that it lifts at the right pressure and replace it if it sticks, because that valve is the last protection on the boiler.
