What we repair on the bench.

Knock or bang when the boiler refills. A sharp knock as the pump tops up the boiler can come from a fill valve that snaps shut, or from a pipe that has worked loose and hits the frame. We watch fill cycles with the case off, then replace the valve or secure the pipe that is making the noise.
Pressure switch clicking and chattering. A mechanical pressurestat clicks each time it switches. Rapid chatter, or a buzz from the switch itself, means worn contacts or a scaled diaphragm. We test it through many cycles and replace it before the contacts weld and let the boiler overheat.
Constant hiss once the machine is fully hot. A hiss that never stops at full pressure is steam escaping somewhere: a vacuum valve not seating, a safety valve that seeps, or a steam valve leaking into the wand. We find which one with the case off and a dry cloth over each outlet in turn.
