Yes. Tell us which entrance to use and whether there are stairs. The machine should be cool, with the tank and drip tray empty, and we pack it so the gauges and knobs are protected on the way out.

What water should go in the tank?

Filtered water that still has some minerals in it. Very hard water scales the boiler, and distilled water is a poor choice for a boiler machine. A pitcher filter or a tank filter is a sensible middle ground for most kitchens.

The water tank on these machines comes out through the top, under the cup tray, so a machine parked under a low cabinet gets dragged forward at every refill.

All that dragging wears the tank seat and can pinch the silicone lines that run into the tank. A tank that is not seated right, or a sensor that misreads it, stops the heating even with water inside. We pick the machine up anywhere in Albany, from UC Village to Albany Hill, and run it on the bench with a full tank and a near-empty one. The written quote names the part, and nothing gets changed until you say yes.

What we repair on the bench.

Heating light off with water in the tank. Rocket reservoir machines read the tank level and cut the heating when they think it is empty. A float that sticks, a sensor that has shifted, or a tank sitting slightly high will do it. We check the sensor with the tank at several levels and reseat or replace the part at fault.
Pump running but little water reaching the group. When the intake line inside the tank kinks or pulls off its filter, the pump draws air and the shot sputters. We replace pinched or hardened silicone lines, clean the intake filter, and bleed the air out of the system before pulling test shots.
Vibration pump getting louder and weaker. A vibration pump that buzzes harder while delivering less has usually worn its piston or picked up scale. We measure its output on the bench, replace the pump when it falls short, and then set the expansion valve so brew pressure lands where it should.
