Some slowing is. A dual boiler needs time to reheat the cold water that refills it, and steam recovers between drinks rather than during them. If the machine never returns to full temperature once the guests leave, or gets slower each time you host, send it in for a bench check.

How do you handle gate codes and long driveways?

Give us the gate code and the best place to park when you book. If the machine is in a pool house or a guest house away from the drive, tell us which one. We carry it cool and drained from wherever it sits and bring it back to the same spot.

Should we keep the tank topped up during a party, or plumb the machine in?

Topping up works as long as someone watches the tank. If your Profitec has a rotary pump, plumbing it to the water line removes that worry, but it needs a proper connection with a shutoff and, often, a pressure reducer. We can look at whether your machine supports it while it is on our bench.

What we repair on the bench.

Tank run dry in the middle of a busy morning. When the tank empties during a run of drinks, the pump pulls air and the steam boiler may stop filling. Most machines protect themselves, but a pump run dry for long can wear, and an element can overheat if the protection is slow. We test the pump and element and check the fill path after a dry run.
Brew temperature that sags during a run of shots. A healthy dual boiler recovers between shots. If the brew temperature drops further with each one and never catches up, the brew element may be losing output, its relay may be wearing, or scale may be slowing heat transfer. We log temperature across a series of shots and replace the part that lags.
Steam that weakens across a long line of milk drinks. Some fade is expected when drinks come back to back, since the steam boiler refills with cold water as it runs. Steam that never returns to full strength between drinks points to the steam element, its relay or scale on the probe. We time the recovery on the bench and fix the cause.
