Profitec in Pleasant Hill

Profitec in Pleasant Hill kitchens.

Pleasant Hill kitchens range from the 1950s ranch homes of Gregory Gardens and Poets Corner to the larger houses in Hidden Lakes and on the west side near Briones Regional Park. On a Profitec with a lever-operated group, lifting the lever does two jobs at once. It opens the brew valves inside the group, and it presses a small switch that starts the pump.

When that switch wears, the pump starts late, starts only if the lever is pushed hard, or keeps running after the lever comes down. We collect the machine anywhere in 94523, test the lever and switch on our bench, and look over the wiring that feeds it. You hear from us with the findings and a written price, and nothing is ordered until you say yes.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Pump that will not start when the lever goes up. The switch behind the lever has a small arm that the lever presses. If the arm bends, the contacts wear, or the bracket shifts, the lever opens the group but the pump stays silent. We check the switch with a meter, adjust its position against the lever, and replace it if the contacts are worn.
  • Pump that keeps running after the lever comes down. A switch that sticks closed leaves the pump running against a closed group. The water circulates back through the expansion valve or the pump's own bypass, and the pump heats and wears. Switch the machine off if this happens. On the bench we replace the switch and check that the expansion valve came through the extra run undamaged.
  • Pump that pulses or stutters during the shot. A vibration pump should give a steady buzz from start to finish. Pulsing can mean it is drawing air through a cracked intake hose or a loose tank fitting, or that the switch contacts are chattering under load. We check the intake side first, then watch the switch and the pump current while the machine brews.

FAQ

Profitec in Pleasant Hill questions, answered.

  • The pump on our Profitec only starts if we push the lever all the way up hard. What is wrong?
The small switch behind the lever is probably worn or out of position. Until it is fixed, avoid forcing the lever, which can bend the switch arm further. If the pump starts late or cuts out in the middle of a shot, send the machine in so the switch can be replaced and set correctly.
  • Do you collect from Hidden Lakes and the west side near Briones?
Yes. Hidden Lakes, the west side near Briones Regional Park, Gregory Gardens, Poets Corner and the streets around downtown are all in 94523. Have the machine switched off and cool, with the tank emptied, and we take it from your door.
  • Our pump kept running after we lowered the lever. Is the machine damaged?
Probably not, if you switched it off soon. With the group closed, the pump only pushes water around its bypass, and a short run does little harm. A long one heats and wears the pump. Leave it off and send it to our bench, where we replace the switch and test the pump output.
  • What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
