Profitec in San Pablo
Profitec in San Pablo kitchens.
The steam and hot water valves on a Profitec open and close against boiler pressure every time you steam milk or draw a cup of hot water. Their seals wear, and the first signs are small: a wand that keeps hissing after you close the knob, a spout that dribbles into the tray, or a knob that needs more force than it used to. Left alone, a leaking valve wastes water and keeps the pump busy refilling the boiler.
San Pablo has plenty of single-family houses from the 1940s through the 1960s, alongside a large share of apartment buildings and row houses. We collect from all of them, including San Pablo East and the streets off Rumrill Boulevard, and carry the machine out cool and drained. On our bench we rebuild the valves and send a written quote before work starts.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Steam wand that keeps hissing after the knob is closed. Worn seals or a scored seat let steam slip past. We take the valve apart, replace the seals and any part of the seat that is marked, then test it closed under full pressure.
- Hot water spout that dribbles into the tray. The same wear reaches the hot water valve. A dribble wastes boiler water and makes the pump cycle to refill. We rebuild the valve and check that the refilling stops once it seals.
- Knobs that fight you on the steam and water valves. A stiff knob usually means dried grease or scale on the valve stem. We clean the stem, replace its seals and lubricate it with a heat-rated food-safe grease so it turns smoothly again.

FAQ
Profitec in San Pablo questions, answered.
-
Our steam wand hisses all night. Is that a problem?
Yes. It wastes power and water and keeps the pump refilling the boiler. Switch the machine off and leave it off until the valve is repaired. -
Can you collect from an apartment near Contra Costa College?
Yes. Apartments, row houses and single-family homes anywhere in 94806 are inside our pickup area, including the streets around Contra Costa College. We carry the machine down stairs if needed. -
Should we keep using the machine while the steam valve leaks?
No. Switch it off until the valve is repaired, and don't crank the knob tighter to stop the leak; that wears the seal faster. A leak tends to grow as the seal wears further, and a scored seat is more work to fix than seals alone. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
