Profitec in Pleasanton
Profitec in Pleasanton kitchens.
Pleasanton's older core in Downtown, Vintage Hills and Birdland went up in the 1960s and 1970s, the Mohr-Martin and 94588 tracts followed in the 1980s and 1990s, and Ruby Hill and Castlewood are estate homes. A dual boiler Profitec behaves the same in each. One thing that surprises owners is the brew gauge rising as the machine heats, with nobody touching the lever.
That rise is water expanding in the sealed brew boiler as it warms. The expansion valve should open at its set point and let the extra out, into the drip tray or back toward the tank. If the needle climbs well past that point, or never moves at all, the valve or the gauge needs attention. We pick the machine up, measure both on our bench, and send the findings with a written price.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew gauge that climbs too high during heat-up. An expansion valve that has scaled or stuck opens late, so pressure in the brew boiler runs past its limit before any water is released. Seals in the brew path take the extra strain. We clean or replace the valve, set its opening point with a test gauge, and watch a full heat-up from cold.
- Gauge needle that no longer moves. If the gauge sits at zero while shots pour normally, the thin line that feeds it may be blocked with scale, or the gauge itself has failed. We clear or replace the line, fit a new gauge if needed, and compare its reading with our test gauge at the group.
- Expansion valve that drips all day once the machine is hot. Some discharge during warm-up is normal. A steady drip once the boiler is hot and idle means the valve seat is scaled or its seal is worn, and water is leaving the brew circuit for no reason. We rebuild or replace the valve and confirm it closes and stays closed at temperature.

FAQ
Profitec in Pleasanton questions, answered.
-
Why does the brew gauge on our dual boiler rise while it is just heating up?
The brew boiler is sealed and full of water, and water expands as it heats. Pressure climbs until the expansion valve opens and bleeds off the extra. A rise that stops at the usual mark is normal. A needle that keeps climbing well past it is worth a bench check. -
Can you collect from Ruby Hill and Castlewood?
Yes, and from Vintage Hills, Birdland, Mohr-Martin and Downtown, across 94566 and 94588. We set a window with you, take the machine out cool and empty, and bring it back after testing. -
Should we leave our dual boiler switched on all day?
That depends on how you use it. Leaving it on saves the warm-up, but it keeps the boilers, seals and relays working through hours with no drinks. Switching it off between the morning and the afternoon saves wear, and if the machine has a timer, let the timer do the switching. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?

What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
