Profitec in Menlo Park
Profitec in Menlo Park kitchens.
Menlo Park covers 94025 and the 94027 strip that overlaps Atherton on the west side. Sand Hill and Allied Arts carry larger homes from the late-2000s build wave, and downtown, Felton Gables and the Willows run older ranch and bungalow stock. Remodels here routinely open walls, and a Profitec in a house under construction tends to end up boxed in a garage or plugged into a brand-new counter outlet.
Both can cause trouble. Construction dust finds its way into tanks and intakes, seals dry out in storage, and a new countertop outlet with ground-fault protection can trip on a machine that ran quietly for years on the old one. We collect the machine, start it cold on our bench, and check the water path, the seals and the insulation. You approve the repair before parts are ordered.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Construction dust in the tank and intake. Fine dust from drywall or tile work settles in an open tank and gets drawn toward the pump. It can clog the intake screen, scratch valve seats and leave grit in the first shots. We clean the tank and intake, flush the water path, and replace the screen and any valve seat that no longer seals.
- Water weeping at the heating element flange. The element enters the boiler through a flange sealed with a gasket. After years of heating and cooling, or after a long stretch in storage, that gasket can weep. Water and scale then collect on the boiler and near the element terminals. We replace the gasket, clean the flange, and test the element's insulation while it is out.
- New countertop outlet that trips as the machine heats. Kitchen remodels bring countertop outlets with ground-fault protection. An element with slightly weakened insulation can leak just enough current to trip one, even if an older outlet never reacted. We measure leakage on each element and circuit, replace the part that fails, and confirm the machine runs on a protected outlet.

FAQ
Profitec in Menlo Park questions, answered.
-
Our Profitec was boxed up during a remodel. What should we do before switching it on?
Rinse the tank and fill it with fresh water, then watch the first warm-up with the machine on a dry counter. Look for water under the case, listen for a pump that runs rough, and taste a flush before the first real shot. If anything seems off, switch it off and send it to our bench. -
Do you collect from Felton Gables and the Willows as well as Allied Arts?
Yes. All of 94025 and the 94027 strip are in the pickup area, Sand Hill and downtown included. Have the machine cool and drained, and it returns to the same door after bench testing. -
Is water around the base of the boiler a sign the boiler has failed?
Rarely. A boiler itself seldom fails, and the gasket at the element flange or a fitting on top is the more likely cause. Both are routine repairs once the case is open. Switch the machine off and let it dry, since water near the element terminals is what needs attention first. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
