Profitec in San Leandro
Profitec in San Leandro kitchens.
San Leandro's houses are mostly mid-century ranches and bungalows in Estudillo, Broadmoor, Washington Manor and Floresta, with remodeled kitchens in the Bal and Estudillo Estates. When a Profitec in one of those kitchens goes completely dark, with no lights and no sound, the cause is usually somewhere in the power path rather than the boiler.
That path runs from the cord through the main switch to the controller, with a safety cutout and sometimes a fuse along the way. Any one of them can stop everything. Check the outlet with a lamp first, then call us. We collect the machine, trace the power path on our bench, and tell you in writing what failed and what the repair will cost before we start.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- No lights, no sound, nothing at all. We start at the plug and follow the power in: cord, main switch, fuse if the machine has one, cutout, then the controller's supply. A dead machine often has a single open part along that line. We find it with a meter, replace it, and work out why it failed so the fix lasts.
- Machine dead after the boiler ran dry. Many espresso machines carry a cutout with a manual reset that trips if a boiler overheats. Once it trips, the machine may show no lights or simply no heat. Resetting it without finding the cause usually means another trip. We look for the reason, such as a low boiler or a failed control, before we reset or replace the cutout.
- Power cord or inlet socket that has worked loose. If the machine has a detachable cord, it can work loose in its socket as the machine is slid in and out under cabinets, and a worn socket arcs and scorches. We replace a damaged cord or inlet, check the terminals behind it, and make sure the new cord seats firmly.

FAQ
Profitec in San Leandro questions, answered.

Our Profitec is completely dead this morning. What should we check first?
Plug a lamp into the same outlet to make sure the outlet works, and look at the breaker panel. Check that the cord is pushed fully into the back of the machine. If all of that is fine and the machine still shows nothing, send it in. Do not open the case yourself. -
