Profitec in Albany
Profitec in Albany kitchens.
Albany kitchens are small. Most houses are 1920s to 1940s stucco and wood bungalows on tight lots, and plenty now have ADUs or basement units with second kitchens. A Profitec in that kind of space often ends up tucked under an upper cabinet and pushed against the wall, where the tank lid on top is awkward to reach.
That matters for the machine. A tank that is hard to refill tends to run low, and a pump drawing air gets loud and wears. When your Profitec comes to our bench, we check the tank, its level sensor and the intake hose along with the heating side, then send the findings and the repair price in writing. You decide before we order parts.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Pump that buzzes loudly and moves little water. The smaller Profitec machines use a vibration pump fed from the tank. If the intake hose slips off the tank bottom or its small filter clogs, the pump sucks air, gets loud and pushes almost nothing. We check the intake path first, prime the pump, and replace it only if it still tests weak.
- Low-water warning with a full tank. On many machines the tank sensor is a float with a magnetic switch. A float stuck with scale or grime, or a switch that has failed, tells the machine the tank is empty and it refuses to pump. We clean the float, test the switch, and confirm the warning clears when the tank is filled.
- Hot water tap that drips after every use. The hot water valve uses the same kind of seals as the steam valve, and they harden with heat and scale. A slow drip after closing wastes boiler water and leaves a puddle on a small counter. We rebuild the valve, clean its seat, and test it hot.

FAQ
Profitec in Albany questions, answered.
-
Is it a problem to keep my Profitec under a kitchen cabinet?
It can work with some room around it. Heat rises through the cup tray, and steam from the wand drifts straight up. Pull the machine forward when you steam milk, and leave space above it so the bottom of the cabinet does not soak up the heat and moisture. -
Can you pick up from ADUs and basement units?
Yes. Tell us which door to come to and whether there is a side gate. ADUs, basement units, the bungalows near Solano Avenue and San Pablo Avenue, and the homes on Albany Hill are all in the pickup area, and the machine comes back to the same spot. -
The tank ran dry and now my Profitec will not heat. Is it ruined?
Often not. Running dry can trip the safety thermostat, which cuts the heat to protect the boiler. The cutout itself may be fine, or the element may have failed from overheating. That needs a bench test rather than repeated power cycling, and the written quote tells you which it was. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
