Profitec in Livermore

Profitec in Livermore kitchens.

Livermore covers 94550 and 94551, from Springtown and Sunset West to the wine-country estates south of Tesla Road. Summers are the hottest in the Tri-Valley, with triple-digit stretches most years, and water that sits in a warm tank goes stale sooner. A Profitec here is best filled with fresh water daily, and if it has a softening cartridge in the tank, that cartridge needs its own attention.

When a machine stops, the cause can be small: a blown fuse, a starved pump, a dry cam in the group. We collect the machine and start it cold on our bench, test the power path from the plug to the element, and measure what the pump draws from the tank. You get our findings and decide on the repair before we order parts.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Machine that shows no sign of life. No lights, no pump and no heat point to the power path rather than the controller. A blown fuse, a one-time thermal fuse that opened after overheating, or a failed main switch can each cut everything. We trace the circuit from the cord inward, replace the failed part, and then look for what made a thermal fuse open in the first place.
  • Brew lever that squeaks or turns stiff. The lever on the group works a cam that opens and closes valves inside. The cam needs a thin layer of food-safe grease, and frequent detergent backflushing slowly washes it away. A dry cam squeaks, feels stiff and wears its seals faster. We clean and regrease the cam, replace worn seals, and check that the lever moves smoothly with the group hot.
  • Softening cartridge in the tank that starves the pump. A cartridge fitted to the tank intake filters and softens water on its way to the pump. Once it clogs, or if air stays trapped in it after the tank ran empty, the pump draws poorly and gets loud, and shots thin out. We test the pump without the cartridge, then tell you whether the cartridge needs replacing or simply a proper soak before fitting.

FAQ

Profitec in Livermore questions, answered.

  • Our Profitec went completely dead one evening. What should we check first?
Check the outlet with another appliance and look at the breaker. If the outlet works and the machine still shows nothing, leave it unplugged. A dead machine on a working outlet has probably lost a fuse or thermal fuse, and the reason it opened needs finding on the bench.
  • Do you collect from the South Livermore wine corridor and Springtown?
Yes. Both Livermore ZIPs are in the pickup area, from Springtown and Sunset West to the estates south of Tesla Road. Let the machine cool and empty the tank and drip tray before the pickup window.
  • How often should the softening cartridge in the tank be replaced?
Follow the capacity the cartridge maker gives, adjusted for how much you brew and how hard your water is. A cartridge used past that point stops softening and can start to clog. Soak a new one before fitting it so trapped air does not starve the pump.
  • What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately.
  • How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered.
  • What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
