Profitec in Benicia

Some Profitec machines with a rotary pump can run from a water line instead of a tank. That keeps the machine topped up, but it also means the supply decides how fast scale forms. Benicia's water is moderately hard, and its hardness shifts with the mix of State Water Project, Lake Berryessa and Lake Herman water. A plumbed machine takes whatever comes through the line, so the filter on that line does a lot of work.
Before pickup, close the supply valve and disconnect the line at the machine. We collect from the Eastside, Southampton and the West Side, run the machine on our bench, and check pump pressure, the fill path and the boiler for scale. The written quote comes first, and nothing is ordered until you approve it.

Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Rotary pump that grinds or seeps at the head. A rotary pump head wears or scales inside, then starts to grind or weep at its fittings. We measure brew pressure at the group, check the coupling between motor and pump, and replace the pump head if it has worn.
- Supply filter left past its life. An exhausted filter lets scale through to the boilers and valves, and a clogged one starves the pump. Both show up as slow shots or a fill error. We check how the machine fills and tell you when the fault points back to the filter on your line.
- Brew pressure pushed around by the water line. High or unsteady line pressure adds to what a rotary pump makes, and shots can run above the usual target. We set brew pressure with a test gauge on a blind basket and tell you whether a pressure regulator on the supply would help.

FAQ
Profitec in Benicia questions, answered.
-
Our Profitec is plumbed in. What do we do before pickup?
Close the supply valve, disconnect the line at the machine and catch the water left in the hose. Empty the drip tray and let the machine cool. Leave the filter and supply line in place at home; we run the machine on our own supply. -
Does moderately hard Benicia water call for a filter on a plumbed machine?
Yes. A filter made for espresso machines on the supply line is the usual choice. Because the hardness moves with the mix of sources, change it on schedule rather than waiting for shots to slow down. -
Can you pick up from the West Side near First Street?
Yes. The West Side, the Eastside, Southampton and downtown around First Street are all inside our pickup area. We agree on a window and return the machine to the same address. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
