Profitec in South San Francisco
Profitec in South San Francisco kitchens.
West of 101, South San Francisco is mostly post-war single-family homes in Winston Manor, Sunshine Gardens and Westborough, and we cover Brisbane just to the north as well. A Profitec in one of those kitchens may stop in the middle of a shot with half a tank of water left. The pump quits, a light may blink, and the shot stalls.
That points at the tank's low-water sensor, not the pump. A float with a magnet rides in the tank and tells a switch under it how much water is left. Film, scale or a tank sitting slightly off its base can make it read empty. We collect the machine in 94080 or Brisbane, test the sensor and the tank on our bench, and send you a written price before replacing anything.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Pump that stops mid-shot with water still in the tank. When the low-water switch opens, the controller stops the pump and often the heating too. A float sticking low, a weak magnet, or a switch that fails as it warms can each trigger it early. We free or replace the float, test the switch through a full heat cycle, and fill and drain the tank to confirm it reads right.
- Tank that does not sit squarely on its base. If the tank rests a little high or tilted, the float sits off the switch and the intake hose may not reach the water. We check the tank seating, the guides and the hose length, and replace a tank that has warped or cracked.
- Intake hose that curls up out of the water. The intake hose can stiffen and curl as it ages, lifting its end off the bottom of the tank. The pump then draws air as soon as the water drops below the tip. We fit a new hose and filter cut to the right length and prime the pump before testing.

FAQ
Profitec in South San Francisco questions, answered.
-
Our Profitec stops pumping when the tank is still half full. Why?
The tank's low-water sensor is probably reading empty too soon. Take the tank out, rinse it and the float, and seat it back firmly. If it still stops early, the float, its magnet or the switch under the tank needs testing on our bench. -
Do you collect from Brisbane as well as South San Francisco?
Yes. Brisbane is in the pickup area along with Winston Manor, Sunshine Gardens, Westborough and the rest of 94080. Have the machine cool, the tank empty and the drip tray clean, and we collect it at your door. -
Should the tank be rinsed every time we refill it?
Not every time, but often. Rinse and wipe it every few refills, empty it rather than topping up old water, and clean the float so film does not build on it. A clean tank keeps the water fresh and the low-water sensor reading true. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
