Profitec in Walnut Creek
Profitec in Walnut Creek kitchens.
Walnut Creek covers four ZIPs, from the estate homes of Northgate, Walnut Heights and the streets east of Ygnacio Valley Road to the Rossmoor condos and the older flatlands near downtown. In a remodeled kitchen, a Profitec with a rotary pump is sometimes plumbed straight to the water line. That line brings a pressure of its own to the machine.
A rotary pump adds its pressure on top of what is already in the line. If the household supply runs high, brew pressure climbs past the usual setting, the expansion valve drips, and fittings take extra strain. A pressure reducer ahead of the machine solves it. We collect the machine, test it on a controlled supply at our bench, and send the findings with a written price.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew pressure that runs high only when plumbed in. On the tank the machine brews at its normal pressure; on the water line the gauge reads higher. That gap is the line pressure being added to the pump's. We set the pump for your supply and recommend a pressure reducer at the connection so a change in street pressure does not reach the group.
- Supply hose weeping at the machine inlet. The braided hose that feeds a plumbed machine has a sealing washer at each end. Heat under the cabinet and repeated moves compress the washer, and a slow weep starts at the fitting. We replace the washers or the hose and check the shutoff valve so the connection can be closed off cleanly.
- Fill valve that seeps under full line pressure. The valve that fills the steam boiler has to hold back the whole line pressure while closed. A worn seat lets water seep past, and the boiler slowly overfills until the steam comes out wet. We clean or replace the valve and check that the level holds overnight.

FAQ
Profitec in Walnut Creek questions, answered.
-
Our plumbed Profitec shows more pressure on the gauge than when it ran from the tank. Is that a fault?
Not a fault in the machine. The line pressure is adding to the pump pressure. A pressure reducer ahead of the machine and a pump adjustment fix it. Until then, the extra pressure shortens the life of seals and valves, so it is worth sorting out. -
Do you collect from Rossmoor?
Yes, and from Northgate, Walnut Heights, the streets east of Ygnacio Valley Road and the older flatlands near downtown, across 94595, 94596, 94597 and 94598. Let us know about entry arrangements when you book, and have the machine cool with the tank empty. -
Why does our plumbed machine keep dripping into the tray while it sits hot?
On a plumbed machine, the usual reasons are line pressure pushing past the expansion valve or a fill valve that no longer seals. A steady drip while the machine is hot and idle is worth a bench check before the extra pressure wears the seals. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
