Profitec in Fremont
Profitec in Fremont kitchens.
Fremont covers 94536, 94538, 94539 and 94555, and its kitchens range from postwar tracts in Centerville, Niles and Irvington to newer houses in Warm Springs and the large homes of Mission San Jose and the Mission Hills. A Profitec can sit in any of them. How it has been descaled, what water it gets and how hard it works shape the fault more than the house does.
Descaling is the job owners do themselves, and it helps when it is done gently and on time. Done late, on a machine already heavy with scale, it can loosen flakes that lodge in small valves and restrictors. We collect the machine and run it on our bench to find where the flow stops, or where water goes that it should not. The findings reach you before any part is ordered.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Weak or no flow after a descaling run. Descaler dissolves scale slowly, and on a heavily scaled boiler it breaks pieces loose before it dissolves them. Those flakes settle in the group restrictor, the check valve or the solenoid valve and cut the flow. We open the water path, clear or replace the blocked parts, and flush the boilers until the water runs clean.
- Pump that starts by itself in short bursts. On a machine with automatic boiler fill, the pump runs whenever the level probe asks for water. If it kicks in every so often with nobody brewing, water is leaving the boiler somewhere: a weeping valve, a leaking fitting, or an expansion valve that no longer closes. We find the leak with the machine hot and fix that, not the pump.
- Check valve that lets boiler water run back. A check valve between the pump and the boiler keeps pressurized water from flowing backward. When scale holds it open, hot water can push back toward the pump, the tank warms, and the pump may lose its prime and gurgle on the next fill. We clean or replace the valve and confirm the boiler holds pressure with the pump off.

FAQ
Profitec in Fremont questions, answered.
-
We descaled our Profitec and now it barely pulls water. Did we break it?
Probably not for good. Flakes loosened by the descaler have likely lodged in a restrictor or valve. Stop running descaler through it and do not force the pump against a blocked path. Send it to our bench as it is, with a note of which product you used and how long it sat in the boilers. -
Do you pick up in Warm Springs and the Mission Hills as well as Centerville?
Yes. All four Fremont ZIPs are in the pickup area, Niles and Irvington included. Empty the tank, let the machine cool, and it comes back to the same door after the bench work. -
How do we find out if our tap water is scaling up the machine?
Ask your water supplier for the hardness figure, or dip a test strip in tap water. Soft water needs descaling rarely. Harder water calls for a filter in the tank or a softening cartridge on a plumbed line, and for descaling more often and more gently, before scale builds up thick. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -

What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
