Profitec in San Ramon
Profitec in San Ramon kitchens.
San Ramon covers 94582 and 94583, from Bridges and Henry Ranch to the Westside, Twin Creeks, the Country Club streets and the Dougherty Valley and Gale Ranch builds. A dual boiler Profitec in any of those kitchens has two heating circuits, one for brewing and one for steam. When shots are fine but the wand gives only a weak puff, the fault usually sits on the steam side alone.
That narrows the search to the steam element, the relay or switch that powers it, the steam boiler's sensor or pressure switch, or its own safety cutout. A setting can do it too, if the controller lets you turn the steam boiler off. We collect the machine, check the settings first, then test the steam circuit on our bench and send you a written price before repairing it.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Steam boiler cold while the brew side heats normally. We check the controller's steam setting first, then trace the steam circuit: element, relay, cutout and wiring. An element that has opened reads as an open circuit on the meter; a relay that no longer closes shows no power reaching a good element. We replace the failed part and watch steam pressure build from cold.
- Steam cutout tripped by a dry steam boiler. The steam boiler has its own safety cutout. It trips when the boiler overheats, usually because the water fell below the element or the fill stopped. Resetting it without finding why only buys a day or two. We check the level probe and fill valve, fix the cause, and then reset or replace the cutout.
- Steam pressure that climbs and falls in wide swings. A steam boiler run by a mechanical pressure switch cycles between two points. As the switch wears, the gap between them widens, and steam comes in strong and weak bursts. On a controller-run boiler, a failing sensor does the same. We log the swing on the bench and replace the switch or sensor behind it.

FAQ
Profitec in San Ramon questions, answered.
-
Our dual boiler brews fine but the steam wand barely puffs. Is it the element?
It might be, but check the simple things first. Look in the settings to see whether the steam boiler has been switched off, if your controller has that option, and give the machine a full warm-up. If the steam side still stays cold, the element, its relay or its cutout needs testing on our bench. -
Do you collect from the Dougherty Valley and Gale Ranch builds?
Yes. Dougherty Valley, Gale Ranch, Bridges, Henry Ranch, Twin Creeks, the Westside and the Country Club streets are all in the pickup area for 94582 and 94583. Have the machine cool and empty, and we handle the rest. -
Is it safe to keep making espresso on a machine whose steam side has failed?
Only if the steam boiler is simply switched off in the settings. If the steam side failed on its own, switch the machine off until it's checked. A dead steam side can be a cutout that tripped because a fill fault starved the steam boiler, and that fault can get worse. When you send it in, we look at both sides. -
