Profitec in Redwood City
Profitec in Redwood City kitchens.
Redwood City runs from mid-century family homes in the flatlands and Mount Carmel to the hillside houses of Emerald Hills and the condo towers around Redwood Shores. Whatever the kitchen, a Profitec gives notice about its heating long before it fails. The warm-up takes a little longer each month, or the boiler is slower to recover after a drink.
A slow heat-up has a short list of causes: scale insulating the element, an element that has lost some output, a relay with wearing contacts, or a sensor reading wrong so the controller cuts power early. We collect the machine, time the heat-up on our bench, and measure each of those parts. The findings come to you in writing, with the price, before anything is replaced.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Warm-up that takes longer than it used to. We time the machine from cold against its normal heat-up and read the current the element draws. An element coated in scale draws full power but passes heat poorly; a weakening element draws less. The reading decides whether the boiler needs descaling or the element needs replacing.
- Relay contacts that click but pass little power. The controller switches the element through a relay. Worn contacts can click on time and still pass too little current, so the boiler lags. A relay that sticks closed does the opposite and overheats the boiler. We test the relay under load and replace it with one of the correct rating.
- Boiler that recovers slowly between drinks. After a shot or a burst of steam, fresh water enters the boiler and the controller has to heat it back up. If recovery drags, the element, its relay or the sensor that tells the controller when to heat may be at fault. We watch the recovery on the bench with a thermometer on the boiler and fix the part that lags.

FAQ
Profitec in Redwood City questions, answered.
-
We live in a Redwood Shores condo tower. Can you pick up from the building?
Yes. Tell us about the loading area, the elevator and any building rules for service people when you book, and we plan the pickup around them. The machine goes out cool, empty and wrapped, and it comes back the same way. -
How long should a Profitec take to warm up from cold?
Long enough for the group to heat through, not just the boiler. The boiler reaches temperature well before the heavy group does, so the first shot is better after a full warm-up. What matters for a repair is change: if your machine now takes noticeably longer than it did a year ago, that is worth a bench test. -
Do you pick up in Emerald Hills?
Yes, and in Mount Carmel, the flatlands and Redwood Shores, across 94061, 94063 and 94065. Hillside driveways are fine. We agree on a window with you and return the machine to the same door. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
