Yes, it has to come off the water line before we carry it out. Close the supply valve, disconnect the line at the machine, and keep the fitting somewhere it will not get lost. The machine comes back ready to reconnect the same way.

If a remodel gave your Profitec its own place on the counter, the machine may be plumbed straight to a water line instead of filled from its tank. That is usually a rotary-pump dual boiler, and it changes both the pickup and the diagnosis.

A plumbed machine needs its supply valve closed and its line disconnected before it can travel. Once it reaches our bench, we run it on a controlled water supply, watch both boilers come up to temperature, and test the pump under load. The findings and the repair price come to you in writing, and parts are ordered only after you agree.

What we repair on the bench.

Rotary pump that runs but builds weak pressure. A rotary pump is driven by its own motor, so a weak shot can come from the pump head, the motor, or a pressure setting that drifted. On a plumbed machine the incoming line pressure matters too. We measure brew pressure at the group with a test gauge, check the motor, and adjust or rebuild before replacing anything.
Steam boiler that overfills and spits water from the wand. The steam boiler keeps its water level with a probe and a fill valve. When the probe scales over or the fill solenoid sticks open, the boiler floods, and the wand throws hot water instead of dry steam. We clean or replace the probe, test the fill valve, and confirm the level holds through several steam cycles.
Heating that cuts out after the machine reaches temperature. If the machine heats, then goes cold and will not come back, the safety thermostat may have tripped. That cutout is doing its job; the real question is why it opened. A boiler that ran low, a relay stuck closed or a failing sensor can each trip it. We find the cause first, then reset or replace the cutout.
