Profitec in Pinole
Profitec in Pinole kitchens.
On a Profitec with a lever-operated group, lifting the lever turns a cam inside the group that opens the water path, and lowering it vents the pressure into the drip tray. Those moving parts live in hot water and coffee oil for years. Over time the lever turns stiff, the group drips while the machine sits idle, or the puck comes out wet because the vent no longer opens fully.
We collect machines from across Pinole: Pinole Valley, Old Town, Nob Hill, Bay Side and Pinole on the Hill. On our bench we take the group apart, clean the cam, replace the worn gaskets and valve seals, and test it hot. EBMUD water is soft to moderate, so a group here tends to need seals and lubrication more than heavy descaling. You approve the written quote before we start.
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. 6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew lever that has turned stiff or gritty. The cam and its seat lose their lubricant and pick up coffee oil and fine grit. We strip the group, clean the cam and seat, and grease them with a food-safe lubricant rated for the heat.
- Group that drips while the machine sits idle. Worn seals on the brew valve let a little water through even with the lever down. We replace the valve seals and springs inside the group and watch for drips once it is back to temperature.
- Wet puck because the group no longer vents. When the lever comes down, the group should dump its pressure into the drip tray. A blocked vent path or a worn seal leaves water sitting over the coffee. We clear the path, renew the seals and check that it vents cleanly after every shot.

FAQ
Profitec in Pinole questions, answered.
-
How often should the group on our Profitec be serviced?
Back-flush with a blind basket as your manual advises, and replace the group gasket and screen when shots start to spray or the portafilter locks further round than before. The cam and valve seals need attention less often, usually when the lever stiffens or the group drips. -
Can we grease a stiff brew lever ourselves?
Only with the machine off, cool and depressurized, and only if you are comfortable taking the group apart. The wrong grease, or a spring put back the wrong way, makes things worse. If in doubt, have us collect it. -
Do you pick up from Linda Heights?
Yes. Linda Heights, Pinole Valley, Nob Hill and the rest of 94564 are inside our pickup area. Let the machine cool and drain the tank, and we handle the rest. -
What does the Profitec pickup deposit cover?
$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. The deposit is not credited toward the repair. Repair work is quoted separately. -
How long does Profitec bench repair take?
Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. -
What warranty applies to Profitec coffee-machine repair?
6 months on parts and labor; 90 days on consumables.
