What we repair on the bench.

Leaks that appear after a long idle stretch. Rubber and silicone seals shrink a little when a machine sits cold for weeks. The first heat cycle after that can weep at the group, the steam valve or a boiler fitting. Some of those seal back up as they warm; others keep dripping. We run the machine hot until any leak shows, then replace the seals that failed.
Vacuum breaker that hisses and never seals. The vacuum breaker on the steam boiler lets air out during warm-up and closes as pressure builds. Scale or a worn seal keeps it from closing, so it hisses, leaks steam and lets boiler pressure sag. We clean or replace the valve and watch it seat on the next warm-up.
Stale water and film in the tank and lines. Water left sitting in the tank grows a film, and the taste reaches the cup. We drain the machine, clean the tank and intake hose, flush the boilers, and replace any hose that has discolored inside. Before a long absence, emptying the tank and drip tray keeps the problem from starting.
