The ceramic grinder burrs, the brew unit and the gears that drive it through every cycle do the most work, and they are where an older machine usually gives out.

If your X8, X10 or GIGA sits in an office off San Pablo Avenue or Refugio Valley Road, or in one of the new buildings at Hercules Bayfront, we pick it up and bring it to our bench. There we grind, brew and rinse until the fault shows itself, and we still check the heater for scale before it goes back. You see a written quote first, and nothing is replaced until you approve it.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Ceramic burrs dull and grinding too coarse. Thin coffee with grounds that feel like sand means the ceramic burrs have lost their edge. Setting the grind finer will not bring them back. We pull the grinder, fit new burrs, and dial the grind in again so the dose and the extraction match.
Brew unit groaning or stopping mid-cycle. A brew unit that has dried out or packed with coffee residue drags on its drive. The machine groans, stalls, or shows an error halfway through a cup. We take the unit out, clean it, check the drive gears for stripped teeth, and replace the seals and any worn gear before it goes back in.
Cleaning program that stops partway through. When the cleaning program quits early or keeps asking to run again, the drain path or the brew unit is often behind it. Grounds build up where the rinse water should leave. We clear the drain, check the brew unit's travel, and run the full cleaning program to the end.
