Alameda runs a lot of small cafes and lunch spots along Park Street and Webster Street, plus office breakrooms out at Marina Village and Alameda Point. A Jura X8 or WE8 sits behind a counter or in a kitchenette pulling shots all day, and Alameda's older water lines mean scale builds fast. We cover 94501 and 94502.
We work out of San Ramon, so it is about a 35 to 40 minute run over to the island depending on the tube and bridge traffic. We carry common Jura brew-unit and grinder parts in the van, so most island jobs involve parts we usually stock instead of a second trip.

Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Brew unit and gaskets. The brew unit takes the most wear on a busy Jura. We rebuild it with fresh gaskets and seals so it stops leaking past the puck and grinding.
- Ceramic grinder burrs. Worn ceramic burrs throw off the grind and the shot goes thin. We swap the burrs and reset the grind on X8, WE8, and GIGA units.
- Descaling and thermoblock. Alameda water leaves scale in the thermoblock heater and ceramic valves. We descale the machine and check the valves, and we will spec a water filter to slow it down.
- Flow meter and pump. When the volume reads wrong or the pump labors, the flow meter or pump is usually the cause. We test both and replace what has failed.
