Common repairs we do
What we repair on the bench.
- Descaling and ceramic valves. Old-pipe hard water in the older Solano Avenue buildings scales the valves and thermoblock quickly. We descale, replace worn ceramic valves, and get filtration set up on the line.
- Brew unit wear. One machine handling an entire shop's rush wears through the brew-unit gaskets on its own accelerated schedule. We rebuild the unit and reseal it so it stops leaking and jamming during the morning rush.
- Ceramic grinder burrs. Daily grinding on a single-machine setup wears the ceramic burrs down over time. We swap the burrs and reset the grind on WE8 and X-line machines to bring shots back to consistent.
- Pump and flow meter. If pressure feels weak or the pour volume is off, we check the pump and the flow meter under load and replace whichever is out of spec. Both fail independently, so we don't assume it's the pump just because that's the usual culprit.
