A Slayer Espresso 2 group running a full day of guests during an event pulls real volume, and a stalled brew group in the middle of it is not a small problem for whoever is running that event.

From San Ramon it is roughly 50 to 60 minutes on 680 south and then 92 or 280 to reach 94062. We drive out, put the machine through its paces so we see the fault ourselves, and only then write up a quote. This side of the bay runs hard water, which is the usual reason boilers and valves on these machines fail early, so scale gets checked every time we are there.

What we repair on the bench.

Brew needle valve and actuator. What sets a Slayer apart is the needle valve, and a machine that goes quiet between events tends to develop a sticky lever and vague flow profiling once it is finally put back to work. We rebuild the valve and actuator and reset the travel to get profiling accurate again.
Group seals and gaskets. Hard water on this side of the bay wears through group gaskets whether the machine sees event use or sits idle. Once the shot starts leaking around the portafilter head, we pull and replace the brew group seals and gaskets as a set.
Descaling and water filtration. A machine that sits between events on the property scales up just as fast as one running daily, and the solenoid starts dragging along with the boiler. We descale the full water path and fit or check an inline filter so the buildup slows down.
Boiler element and probe. A steam boiler that will not hold heat, or a temperature reading that drifts, usually comes down to a bad element or level probe. We test both, replace whichever failed, and confirm the recovery holds before we sign off.
