Hillsborough has almost no storefront retail, so most of the Slayer machines we see here sit in the cafes just over the line in downtown Burlingame along Burlingame Avenue, plus the private estate kitchens inside 94010. The shops that run a Slayer Espresso 2 group pull steady volume, and a stalled brew group on a Saturday means a line out the door.

From San Ramon it is roughly 50 minutes across the San Mateo Bridge to reach 94010. We come out to look at the machine, run it, and write a quote before any tool comes out. The hard water on this side of the bay is the main reason these boilers and valves fail early, so we check scale every visit.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Brew needle valve and actuator. The needle valve is what makes a Slayer a Slayer. When flow profiling goes vague or the lever sticks, we rebuild the needle valve and actuator and reset the travel.
Group seals and gaskets. Hard 94010 water chews through group gaskets. We replace the brew group seals and portafilter gaskets so the shot stops leaking around the head.
Descaling and water filtration. Scale off the local supply clogs the boiler and slows the brew solenoid. We descale the boiler and water path and check or set up the inline filter so it does not come back fast.
Boiler element and probe. A cold steam boiler or wandering temperature is usually a failed element or level probe. We test both, swap what is dead, and verify the recovery.
