Slayer in Los Altos

Downtown Los Altos has a dense little coffee scene around Main Street and State Street, where the specialty cafes lean on Slayer machines for the morning and lunch crowds. In 94022 and 94024 these shops trade on shot quality, so a needle valve that drifts gets noticed fast.

San Ramon to Los Altos is about 45 to 50 minutes south. We run the machine, pin down the fault, and hand over a written quote before any work. Local water leaves scale in the boiler and valves, so descaling is part of nearly every visit here.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

Brew needle valve and actuator. Shot consistency is the whole point downtown. When the profiling goes off, we rebuild the brew needle valve and actuator and reset the flow.
Brew and steam solenoids. A solenoid stuck open or slow to close wrecks dosing and steam. We test and replace the brew and steam solenoids and clean the seats.
Descaling and filtration. Los Altos water scales the boiler and brew path. We descale, then check or set up the inline filter so the valves stay clean.
Group seals and gaskets. Daily volume plus scale ends gasket life early. We swap the group seals and portafilter gaskets to stop leaks at the head.
