Slayer in Orinda
Slayer commercial service.
Orinda is small but the coffee scene around Orinda Village and the Theatre District off Moraga Way in 94563 punches above its size. The cafes here aren't high-volume chains, they're neighborhood spots running a single group or a 2 group Slayer for a steady commuter crowd off the BART platform. On a machine that doesn't get hammered all day, problems tend to creep in slowly, a softening shot, a steam wand that lost pressure, before anyone calls it in.
From San Ramon we're about 20 to 25 minutes over the hill, so Orinda is one of our quicker runs. We service Slayer independently, not as a factory shop, and every visit starts with a real diagnosis and a written quote. With the local water, scale on the boiler element is the slow killer here, so descaling and filtration are usually part of the conversation.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Boiler element and probe. Low steam pressure or a machine that won't hold temp on a single group Slayer often traces to a scaled element or a bad probe. We test both and replace what's failed.
- Needle valve flow profiling. If shots have gone flat or the profiling feels off, the brew needle valve needs cleaning or a rebuild. The valve internals come through Slayer.
- Steam solenoid and wand. Weak or stuck steam on the Steam EP or LP setup usually means a tired steam solenoid. We test the coil and valve and swap what's gone.
- Descaling on the plumbed line. Orinda water builds scale even on a low-volume machine. We descale and set up a filter so the element and probe stop taking the hit.

FAQ
Slayer in Orinda questions, answered.
-
How soon can you reach Orinda?
Orinda is one of our closer towns, about 20 to 25 minutes from San Ramon over the hill. A down machine means lost morning rush, so we'll come after hours or before open to get you running. -
Are Slayer parts in stock or ordered?
Wear parts like gaskets, seals, and common solenoids ride on the van. Needle valve internals, probes, and boards are boutique Slayer parts we source through the maker, so plan a short wait on those. -
What's a typical cost?
The $75 diagnostic is waived when you approve the repair. You get a written quote up front, no surprises. The final number depends on the part, but you sign off before we start.
