Slayer in Union City

Slayer commercial service.

Union City coffee runs leaner than downtown San Jose, with cafes around the Union Landing retail strip, the spots near the BART station, and food-service kitchens in the Whipple Road and 94587 warehouse corridor. When a Slayer goes down in one of these, there is usually no second machine to fall back on, so a fast fix matters.

We are about 30 to 35 minutes from San Ramon over the 680 and 880 split into Union City, all of it inside 94587. A lot of the plumbed espresso setups here sit on untreated municipal water, which means scale in the boiler and needle valve is the first thing we check on a slow or weak machine.

$150 pickup deposit. Pickup, bench diagnosis, and return are included. Repair work is quoted separately. Bench diagnosis can take up to one week; most repairs take 3–4 weeks. Same-day pickup may be available, but same-day repair is not offered. Repair parts are covered for 6 months; consumables are covered for 90 days.

Common repairs we do

What we repair on the bench.

  • Needle valve and flow profiling fault. If a Slayer stopped doing its slow pre-brew ramp, the needle valve or actuator is usually fouled with scale. We service the valve so flow profiling comes back to spec.
  • Pump and pressure loss. Weak or inconsistent shot pressure on a Single Group or 2 group often comes down to a worn pump. We test pressure, swap the pump if it is shot, and confirm the curve before signing off.
  • Boiler descaling and probe service. Hard water in 94587 scales the boiler and fouls the level probe, which throws fill and temperature errors. We descale, test the probe and element, and set up filtration to slow it down.
  • Control board diagnosis. Dead displays, stuck cycles, or no response on a Slayer point at the control board. We diagnose the board, and if it needs replacing we source it through Slayer and quote the lead time first.
